Traditional Archers Sword And Longbow Arrows

Q: Hello, I'm quite new to Archery and now looking to purchase my first bow. I like the look of the new Hoyt Nexus, Do you have any suggestions?

A: Thanks for the question, Firstly welcome to a great sporting community. As regards to recurve bow choice you have many things to consider.

Firstly I suggest that you talk with members of your club and if possible try as many different bows as you can.

Due to you being relatively new to the sport I would suggest that you have yet to settle into a consistent shooting style. This could be a costly mistake if you were to purchase a new bow which you will soon grow out of.

Secondly bows are not cheap, Remember most recurve bows are sold in two parts, Riser and Limbs. So it would be a false economy to purchase an expensive riser and have no funds for a good set  of limbs.

My advise would be take a club coach or senior member with you when you go to purchase your bow, try as many as you can and take all the advise you can get.

Try aiming at a good intermediate bow like a Samick or Win & Win.

Hope that helps and happy shooting.
